Today In class we had two presenters come in to talk about inclusion in regards to technology. I found that the activity they did with the cards was a very simple yet effective way to describe the feeling of not being included. Because of my cards colour I was told that I would have to leave the presentation early and that made me feel upset because I was looking forward to hearing the presentation! Luckily it was not the truth but it made me reflect on how it felt to not be included.

I think that technology needs to be accessible and it needs to be taught how to be used as a valuable tool. There are so many ways that technology can support students learning and communication. I understand that students were misusing their cell phones in class so thats why they have been banned, but it feel like taking them away was an easy way out. This could have been an opportunity to teach the students how to use their devices to support their learning and not disrupt it.
